Drawing doesn’t just capture how a moment looks, it captures how that moment felt. By slowing down, really observing and being present it allows me to notice and appreciate magical small moments, interactions and details that you’ll cherish to look back on again and again.
It would be my honour to capture this magical chapter in your love story in this special book.
How it Works
I live-illustrate your wedding ceremony itself, and also the preparations, speeches and reception, as well as unique and distinctive features of your wedding venue. You’ll receive a beautiful linen-bound, handmade artist’s book, filled with paintings and drawings of your special day, as well as copies in high-quality digital format so you can easily share them with your guests, family and friends.
The first thing to do is to contact me as soon as possible to ensure I’m available (fill out the form below). I’ll consult with you ahead of time to get a feeling for your hopes and dreams for your wedding, and to find out if there are any specific people, things or events you’d like to ensure I include.
I’ll arrive in plenty of time before the wedding starts, and then draw until the party is over or the book is full. I draw everything as it happens, working with a very small portable kit, so I don’t miss anything. I work quietly and unobtrusively, but am always delighted to chat and interact with your guests. I try to capture people in the moment, but I’m also more than happy to draw portraits of any guests who want to be included. I also like to find a time where the newly-married couple can sit for a portrait - this should be no more than 15 minutes, and can be a welcome respite later in the day, but as with everything, I’ll be happy to work with you to ensure it fits smoothly into your plans.
My standard fee is £795 for a full day of wedding art. This covers travel to destinations in West Scotland within 4 hours of my studio in central Kintyre. Other locations may be available but an additional travel fee will apply. I’ll usually bring my campervan so accommodation costs can be kept to a minimum - please get in touch to discuss your requirements. This covers a full day of painting, usually about 8-10 hours, depending on the timings and location of your wedding, and an artists’ book of 30 drawings and paintings. I will then take your book back to my studio to scan and prepare your digital copies - all of which will be with you within 2 weeks of your wedding date.
